PMB gains ground in Norway

As a result of the growing Norwegian road construction market, Nynas has decided to further invest in upgrading the Drammen depot, situated south west of Oslo.

In addition to increased storage capacity, a new PMB plant will also be built.

“By investing in a PMB plant in Drammen, we’ll be moving closer to the market and can continue to offer a reliable supply of our polymer-modified products. We’ll also avoid the deliveries by road tanker from Sweden we used to depend on, thus reducing CO2 emissions,” says Kjell Arne Juul, Managing Director, Nynas AS.

Why Road Sustainability Can’t Stop at the Gate

Paying more upfront – in both cost and emissions – may ultimately be the most cost- and climate-efficient choice over a road’s lifetime. And having spent significant resources on getting control over their cradle-to-gate data, the road construction value chain should get ready to pivot to “cradle-to-grave” thinking.
