Passion for Transformers

Dr. Hugo Campelo recently took up his new position as Senior Technical Advisor at Nynas, focusing on customers within the electrical industry.

“I am a chemical engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector and a deep passion for knowledge,” he remarks.

Previously, Hugo worked at Efacec, a Portuguese electrical equipment manufacturer. He holds an Industrial PhD in the research area of thermal management of transformers.

“Nynas is a historically market-leading company in a growing transformer market with a unique value proposition. My goal is to be a part of its history and family, contributing to its continuous leadership position and sustainable growth."

In his new role, Hugo serves as a technical expert on the application of dielectric liquids in transformers and switchgear. "This means I will be supporting our technical sales and marketing team in their engagements with customers and end-users across EMEIA.”

Hugo considers electrical transformers one of the most brilliant machines ever invented. “The world is electrical and is becoming even more so. This is the place to be and the place to stay.”
